You scrolled through post after post of #SeniorSunday pics since Freshman year, just waiting for your chance to officially show off your own Senior images. You might still have another year before you wake up a Senior, or you might be finally counting down the days of your last year of High School. Heck, you might even be out of High School and loving the freedom of college life... Now that school is back in session, Fall temps are just around the corner, and the reality of the next eight months of early mornings, daily homework and focusing on classes will soon set in.

Angelworks Photography is one of less than 50 leading Senior Portrait Studios from around the country who have been invited to participate in this year's Seniors Ignite National Model Competition! We'll be traveling to Palm Springs again this year to photograph the winners AND to get away with a select few of our clients for our 2018 Cali Photo Getaway!
WHAT IS THIS ANYWAY?
Seniors Ignite is a National organization of Senior photographers dedicated to modernizing Senior portraits. The Seniors Ignite National Model Competition is an opportunity for your story and image editorials to be featured in the National SEEN Magazine and online. Winning models will be photographed on location in Palm Springs in January 2018.
Angelworks Photography is also offering a select number of private destination shoots in the Palm Springs area, the same week as the National Model Shoot. Our clients will join us for our 2018 Cali Photo Getaway - also in Palm Springs.
WHO CAN ENTER?
The National Model Competition AND the 2018 Cali Photo Getaway are open to current Angelworks class of 2018 Senior Models and class of 2018 Senior Clients, as well as class of 2017 and class of 2019 new recruits and returning models and clients! Entrants must be 16 by January 21, 2018 to enter.
Seniors Ignite National Model Competition
First round finalists will be treated to a Finalist Fun Shoot here in Michigan - date to be determined - to celebrate their selection, and all first round finalists will be guaranteed a spot for the Cali Photo Getaway.
Final winning models will be photographed on location in Palm Springs by Nationally featured photographers (including Angelworks Photography) over the course of three days - January 22, 23 and 24, 2018. These will be fully styled shoots, including professional hair and makeup. Winning models will also receive walking and posing instruction prior to the shoots. Winning Models will receive all images from the lead SEEN photographers, as well as the Collective photographers for their own personal use. They will also receive a complimentary digital copy of the issue of SEEN Magazine that they are featured in!
** Travel, lodging and meals are not included for winning models, and are the responsibility of each winner.
2018 Cali Photo Getaway
A select group of Angelworks clients will join me in Palm Springs for a two night stay in an exclusive private property, complete with pool, hot tub and mountain views! You will be treated Cali style to your own personal destination sessions, and will receive all high resolution files from your shoots. Clients will meet me in Palm Springs on Friday, January 26th and will return home on Sunday, January 29th.
** Lodging is included in this getaway. Travel and meals are not included, and are the responsibility of each client.
HOW CAN I MAKE THIS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY YEAR?
You can choose to be entered into the Seniors Ignite National Model Competition, AND also stay over to be photographed privately for our Cali Photo Getaway! If you enter to win, and are not chosen, you may attend the getaway instead. Additionally, if you do not want to enter the Model Competition, but still want to be photographed in Cali, you may register for the getaway only.
Seniors ignite national model competition
Entry into the Seniors Ignite National Model Competition is FREE for current Angelworks class of 2018 Models and class of 2018 Senior clients. For class of 2017 and class of 2019 new recruits and returning models and clients, there is a $100 fee to enter. This amount will be credited back to you to spend on any 2018 session with Angelworks Photography, or as a deposit toward your class of 2019 Model Team signup if desired -- regardless of whether you become a first round finalist or a winning model. Remember, travel, lodging and meals are not included and are your responsibility. The fee for entering covers your Mini-Model Shoot IN OCTOBER (that's like right now ppl!) to create the needed images, and preparation help for all materials to be submitted for entry.
Entrants are required to have the following submitted by the deadline of Wednesday, November 1st at 5pm:
- A model comp card with approximately 6 images created by the studio they are entering through
- An additional single image comp card also created by the entering studio
- Ten additional images also created by the entering studio
- An online submission form, including the entrant's story to be written by the entering individual
- Signed online consent and release waivers
- A short iPhone video of the entrant, meant to show the judges a little bit about your personality
Don't Worry!! We are here to help with all of these, but the deadline is quickly approaching, so do not wait until the last minute to enter!
2018 Cali Photo Getaway
To snag a spot on our 2018 Cali Photo Getaway, a non-refundable deposit of $100 is due by November 1st. An additional payment of $350 is due December 1st, 2017, and the final payment of $250 is due January 1st, 2018. Remember, lodging IS included in the getaway, however travel and meals are your responsibility.
WHEN WILL I ACTUALLY BE IN CALIFORNIA?
If you have not yet thought that far ahead (because who has?), the dates of the winning model shoot are smack dab in the middle of exam week for many local schools - January 22, 23 and 24 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). This is actually why our Cali Photo Getaway doesn't start until that Friday - January 26th, 2018, so that students can choose to still join us in Cali without missing any exams!
Travel arrangements for winning models would require travel to Palm Springs on Sunday, January 21st, with photo shoots concluding on Wednesday, January 24th, allowing a return home that day, or the next.
For clients attending our Cali Photo Getaway, travel would be to Palm Springs on Friday, January 26th, with checkout at 10am on Sunday, January 28th.
For clients who become winning models, AND want to stay over for the photo getaway (because you're already in Cali, so why not?), you would be responsible for your hotel accommodations all the way from check in on Sunday to check out on Friday - when you would then check in with us at our exclusive private property location.

We've estimated the cost of each option so that you can get an idea of what to expect. Keep in mind that airfare prices can vary greatly, so these are just estimates based on what we are currently seeing available. Scheduling and costs for airfare, lodging and meals are your responsibility except where noted.
